PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cellulose-based fabric excellent in the quality of its dyed surface and also having a deodorizing property. SOLUTION: This cellulose-based fabric is provided by having a copper carboxymethylated cellulose fiber or a zinc carboxymethylated cellulose fiber in its rear side surface. On the one hand, on the surface of the fabric, the copper carboxymethylated cellulose fiber or the zinc carboxymethylated cellulose fiber does not exist, but a dyed cellulose fiber exits. Such cellulose-based fabric is produced by the following method. The cellulose fiber existing at the rear side surface of the fabric is converted into an alkali metal carboxymethylated cellulose fiber, and then converting it into the copper carboxymethylated cellulose fiber or the zinc carboxymethylated cellulose fiber, while the cellulose fiber existing at the surface of the fabric is dyed with a reactive dye stuff.
