A system for milking a group of dairy animals, in particular cows, comprises a living space in which the dairy animals can roam. Several milking places are each arranged in a fixed position and next to each other. The milking parlors are each connected to the living space by means of a walkable connection. An automatic milking system is provided for automatically milking dairy animals that are located in the milking parlors. The milking system comprises teat cups and a connecting system for automatically connecting teat cups to the teats of a dairy animal. The connecting system comprises a robot device which is displaceable relative to the milking parlors such that in each milking place teat cups can be automatically connected by means of the robot device to the teats of a dairy animal located in that milking parlor. Expulsion means are operatively connected to a control system. The expulsion means can be activated by means of the control system to give a dairy animal located in that milking parlor an expulsion stimulus to leave that milking parlor in each of the milking parlors. The control system is designed to activate the expulsion means such that the expulsion stimulus is given to each dairy animal located in one of the milking parlons on the condition that (i) that dairy animal meets a predetermined expulsion criterion and (ii) occupies all other milking parlors by other dairy animals.Een systeem voor het melken van een groep melkdieren, in het bijzonder koeien omvat een verblijfsruimte, waarin de melkdieren kunnen rondlopen.
