The patient monitoring system can have a display screen or portion thereof with a graphical user interface for displaying an indicator of the patient's oxygen status. Indicators may include increasing or decreasing trend of the patient's SpO 2 , dissolved oxygen index and/or dissolved oxygen index. The display of the oxygen status indicator may be compact and may provide the user with direct visual information of various aspects of the patient's oxygen status.
