The invention relates to a method of preparing a composition comprising (a) reacting a binder component (B) comprising at least one alkoxysilane (B2), and a polymer dispersion (PD), thus obtaining a prepolymer and subsequently (b) mixing or hydrolyzing and polycondensing said prepolymer in the presence of water and at least one antimicrobial agent (Z) comprising at least one antimicrobial active (Z1) and optionally a particulate carrier substance (Z2), wherein the at least one antimicrobial agent (Z) is unreactive during step (b).Linvention concerne un procédé de préparation dune composition comprenant les étapes consistant à (a) faire réagir un composant liant (B) comprenant au moins un alcoxysilane (B2) et une dispersion polymère (PD), produisant ainsi un prépolymère et puis (b) mélanger ou hydrolyser et polycondenser le prépolymère en présence deau et au moins dun agent antimicrobien (Z) comprenant au moins une substance active antimicrobienne (Z1) et facultativement une substance support particulaire (Z2), le au moins un agent antimicrobien (Z) étant non réactif durant létape (b).
