PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ant-proof polystyrene foam heat insulating material that maintains ant-proofing effect and insecticidal effect over a long period of time by efficiently holding an ant-proof/insecticidal chemical agent to polystyrene foam without thermally decomposing a part of the ant-proof/insecticidal chemical agent by thermal hysteresis or adding an adhesive, and a method of rationally manufacturing the same.SOLUTION: After raw material beads comprising a foamed polystyrene resin containing a foaming agent are prefoamed so as to have foaming magnification of 85-95% of the foaming magnification required as a molded product, the oil-soluble ant-proof/insecticidal chemical agent, which is an oily liquid at the normal temperature and insoluble or hardly soluble in water, is adhered to the prefoamed particles to dry the prefoamed particles with the ant-proof/insecticidal chemical agent adhered thereon. These prefoamed particles are put in a mold and finally foamed to be molded into a plate or block shape.【課題】 防蟻・防虫薬剤の一部が熱履歴で熱分解されることなく、また接着剤を添加することなく効率よくポリスチレンフォームに防蟻・防虫薬剤を保持させ、長時間防蟻・防虫効果が持続する防蟻性ポリスチレンフォーム断熱材、およびそれを合理的に製造することができる製造方法を提供することにある。【解決手段】 発泡剤を含有する発泡性ポリスチレン樹脂からなる原料ビーズを、成形品として必要とされる発泡倍率の８５％から９５％の発泡倍率となるように予備発泡させた後、当該予備発泡粒子に、常温において油状液体、かつ、水に不溶または難溶性である脂溶性防蟻・防虫薬剤を付着させて乾燥して、この脂溶性防蟻・防虫薬剤が付着した予備発泡粒子を金型に入れ本発泡して、板状またはブロック状に成型するという技術的手段を採用した。【選択図】 なし
