PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an absorbent article hardly hardening when a recessed part is formed by embossing, and having a good contactness to a wearers body.SOLUTION: A sanitary napkin 1 includes: a liquid permeable top sheet 2 provided on the skin side a liquid impermeable back sheet 3 provided on the clothing side and a liquid retaining absorber 4 interposed between the top sheet 2 and the back sheet 3. The top sheet 2 has a plurality of cut-off openings 10 formed by bending a plurality of breaking pieces 10a formed by partial cutting to the clothing side. The absorber 4 has a plurality of absorber recessed parts 11 located at positions corresponding to the cut-off openings 10, extending in the thickness direction and opened on the skin side principal plane of the absorber 4.
