The invention relates to a moss growth substrate (200), preferably consisting of at least two layers (201a, 201 b) of Sphagnum biomass compacted to different bulk densities, the bulk density of the layers increasing from the bottom (202) of the growth substrate towards the top (203) of the growth substrate. The invention also relates to a method of manufacturing the growth substrate, to the growth substrate manufacturable by the method according to the invention and to a method of growing plants in the growth substrate according to the invention.L'invention concerne un substrat de croissance de mousse (200), constitué de préférence d'au moins deux couches (201a, 201b) de biomasse de sphaigne compactées à différentes densités apparentes, la densité apparente des couches augmentant depuis le bas (202) du substrat de croissance vers le haut (203) du substrat de croissance.
