Traditionally pots and floats were large, cumbersome and dangerous to the fisher. New designs have allowed pots and traps to become lighter and collapsible making them easier to store and less dangerous. An improved float for crustacean pots and traps will allow fishers to easily and safely store their floats on their vessel and/or in storage. The improved float is made from malleable, watertight, strong and UV resistant material. The float has a D-ring or similar attached to it allowing the fisher to connect it to the pot with a rope or similar. The float has a valve that allows the fisher to easily and quickly inflate it providing the required buoyancy. Once the fisher has finished using the float they can quickly and easily deflate the float, and because of it malleability, it can be compressed to a size that is significantly less that its buoyant, inflated size. The considerable reduction in the size of the float allows the fisher to easily and safely store the float in their vessel and/or in storage.DRAWINGS FIGURE 1 2 1 3 6 3
