The liner comprises a main body (2) and wings (3) that are folded to overlap a middle region (2I) when the liner is worn in order to affix the liner to an article of clothing. The SAP basis weight of the middle portion (6I) is greater than the SAP basis weight of the front portion (6F) and the SAP basis weight of the rear portion (6R). The main body (2) comprises a front gather region (11F) positioned between the middle region (2I) and a front region (2F) and directly forward of the urination position (UP) of a wearer when the liner is worn； lateral gather regions (11S) that extend from the middle region (2I) to both the front region (2F) and a rear region (2R)； and rear gather regions (11R) that extend substantially in the width direction in the rear region (2R).
