Inhalation device for powdered drugs to be received by a patient by aninhalation-caused air stream comprises at least one powder reservoir, meteringmeans for repeatedly metering a powder dose from the reservoir, atransportationmechanism for moving said metering means from a filling position into anemptyingposition, and at least one activating device for manual operation by thepatient.The at least one activating device is operatively connected to thetransportationmechanism such that upon operation a single powder dose is metered. Theactivatingdevice comprising a dosage key acting on the transportation mechanism whenpressed by the patient. The inhalation device further comprises at least onepowderdisintegration means. The metering means and the transportation mechanism arearranged within a dosing compartment. The disintegration means is arranged inapowder discharge compartment, and the dosing compartment is sealed againstsaidpowder discharge compartment.
