The present invention relates to a pharmaceutical composition for improving cognition and memory containing a Cudrania tricuspidata fruit extract, and a health functional food containing the same as an active ingredient. The pharmaceutical composition of the present invention reduces activities of acetylcholinesterase which is a neurotransmitter decomposing enzyme while increasing activities of extracellular signal-regulated kinase (ERK) and cAMP response element binding protein (CREB) which are proteins related with cognition and memory. In addition, the pharmaceutical composition also increases content of acetylcholine as a neurotransmitter in the blood as well as expression and activities of 5′ AMP-activated protein kinase (AMPK), CREB, and mitochondrial sirtuin 3 (SIRT3) as proteins related with cognitive and memory, thereby improving cognition and memory through expression of genomes related with neurogenesis and neuronal cell differentiation.COPYRIGHT KIPO 2018본 발명은 꾸지뽕나무(Cudrania tricuspidata)열매 추출물을 함유하는 인지, 기억 증진용 약학적 조성물, 이를 유효성분으로 포함하는 건강기능식품에 관한 것이다.본 발명의 약학적 조성물은 신경전달물질 분해효소인 acetylcholinesterase의 활성을 감소시키고, 인지 및 기억 관련 단백질인 ERK와 CREB의 활성을 증가시키고, 혈액에서 신경전달물질인 acetylcholine 함량을 증가시키고, 인지 및 기억 관련 단백질인 AMPK, CREB 및 SIRT3의 발현 및 활성을 증가시키고, neurogenesis 및 neuronal cell differentiation 관련 유전체의 발현을 통해 인지 및 기억 능력을 개선할 수 있다.
