PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a disturbance magnetic field reducing device capable of easily reducing a disturbance magnetic field at low cost and to provide a magnetic resonance imaging apparatus having the same.SOLUTION: The disturbance magnetic field reducing device is arranged near the outer face of the magnet unit 201 of the MRI apparatus and reduces the disturbance magnetic field applied from outside of the MRI apparatus. The disturbance magnetic field reducing device has: a sense coil 210 for detecting the intensity of the disturbance magnetic field and a correcting magnetic field-generating coil 212 for generating a correcting magnetic field reducing the disturbance magnetic field based on the intensity of the disturbance magnetic field detected by the sense coil 210.
