PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a lifting and lowering type bathing apparatus capable of easily and reliably changing a lifting and lowering stroke of a lifting/lowering table provided in a bathtub.SOLUTION: A lifting and lowering type bathing apparatus 1 in which a lifting/lowering table 2 is supported in a bathtub so as to be vertically movable includes: a cylinder 10, at least part of which is embedded on a bottom face F of the bathtub； a cylindrical first piston 20 stored in the cylinder 10 so as to be vertically movable； and a second piston 30 stored in the first piston 20 so as to be vertically movable, which supports the lifting/lowering table 2. The cylinder 10 includes a base part 12 that blocks the lower end and a cylindrical communication rod 13 extending from the base part 12 to the upper end. The first piston 20 includes a bottom part 22 that blocks the lower end, and can slide along the communication rod 13 when the communication rod 13 penetrates a through-hole 22a formed in the bottom part 22.
