PURPOSE: A backrest chair is provided to alleviate stress of a human body by preventing accumulation of fatigue, thereby enhancing mental abilities of a user and providing comfortable feeling. CONSTITUTION: A backrest chair includes a structure(104) fixed on a back plate, a brake operation piece(105) inserted in a horizontal part, a fixing part(106) projected in the center of the horizontal part of the structure, and a spring(107) which is respectively inserted between left and right brake operation pieces of the fixing part. The left and right brake operation pieces are supported in order to be restored with respect to fluctuations by the spring. The left and right brake operation pieces are formed in order to be fit into a concavo-convex shape formed in the structure of the backrest chair.본 발명은 의자, 걸상 등을 사용하는 사람의 자세에 대응하여 인체를 잘 지지하기 위한 의자의 등받이에 대한 것이다. 특히 본 발명은 책상, 작업대 등을 앞에 두고 학습, 연구를 하는 사람에게 있어서 의자의 요추받이가 착석자에게 적절한 지지를 줌으로서 몸에 최대한의 편안함을 주게 하여 정신을 최대한 집중할 수 있게 하기 위한 것이다. 이를 위하여 본 발명은 등받이가 있는 의자의 안쪽에 좌판 또는 의자 몸체에 슬라이딩 가능한 요추받이를 부가함으로써 작업자의 몸이 책상이나 작업대 쪽으로 접근할 때에도 의자 몸체 자체를 전진함이 없이 슬라이딩 가능한 요추받이를 용이하게 전진하여 지지하게 함으로써 작업자의 요추에 발생된 긴장을 해소할 수 있도록 한다.
