The self-watering plant pot consists of a double-walled container (2) with an inner recess for the earth (15) containing the plants, while the space between the walls (3,4) of the container holds the water. The water reaches the earth through two small holes (17) in the base of the inner recess which are up to 5mm in diameter and pref. 0.5 2mm. The upper rim (10) of the container has a hole (12) with a stopper (11) for filling with water, and it can incorporate a sealed ring (20) round a hole (21) in the base to enable rainwater to drain away from the inner recess when the pot is used outside.
