PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To secure an operators visual field.SOLUTION: A medical observation apparatus includes a microscope part 5303 having an image pick-up device 112 for photographing a surgical site and a holding part for holding the microscope part 5303 on the tip side. The holding part includes a first rotating shaft part 5311a for supporting the microscope part 5303 so as to rotate around a first rotation axis O1 roughly coinciding with an optical axis of the microscope part 5303. From the microscope part 5303, a cable group 116 including a signal cable 113 for transmitting a signal on the image pick-up device 112 and a light guide 115 for guiding an illumination light for photographing is extended toward the outside through the inside of a housing of the first rotating shaft part 5311a.
