The mobile terminal is configured to operate in a terminal functional mode and determine that a measuring mode is to be activated and enter said measuring mode. While in the measuring mode the mobile terminal reduces the activity of at least one of said components (120, 220, 520, 530, 230, 210) to reduce the interference caused by the components (120, 220, 520, 530, 230, 210) to the measuring device (540). The mobile terminal causes said measuring device (540) to perform a measurement and resumes the activity of said at least one component (120, 220, 520, 530, 230, 210) as the measurement has been made.
