The controller (9) includes a touch sensor (16) connected to the processing unit (8). An activation member (11) is also connected to processor unit (8). The activation member (11) is a part of the control panel (10) and it serves to activate the system (5) and to initialize the calbration process of the touch sensor (16). An essential condition for propelling the bed (1) is activated touch sensor (16) and concurrently any of the function buttons (17), (18), (19), (20) being pressed.
