The device has a maximal ratio transmission (MRT) interference detection unit connected to a radio frequency (RF) telemetry communication unit (260) or a RF antenna (230) by a frequency diplexer (240). A demodulation unit of the MRT interference detection unit detects RF rotary fields typical for MRT and transmits an MRT detection signal from the MRT detection unit to a treatment control unit (220), where the RF communication unit is in conjunction with the RF antenna to allow communication between an external programming device and an implantable medical device.
