PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an absorbent pad showing marked water absorbability and capable of achieving the shortening of a detection time in a case used in an immunoassay instrument. SOLUTION: The absorbent pad for the immunoassay instrument contains 50 mass% or above of silicon-containing particles of which the humidity absorptivity is 30% or below at a humidity of 60% or below and 40% or above at a humidity of 90% or above.
