A pet food containing at least 5% by mass and no greater than 50% by mass of solids, comprising: an animal-derived protein raw material a plant-derived protein raw material magnesium, sodium, phosphorous and chlorine a preference improving substance composed mainly of a chicken-derived amino acid and water, wherein: a ratio by mass of a total content of the plant-derived protein raw material to a total content of the animal-derived protein raw material is at least 0.15 and a total content of the magnesium, the sodium, the phosphorous and the chlorine in the solids is no greater than 5% by mass in terms of element content.
