PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a medical laser apparatus which provides visible laser light of many wavelengths at a high output with a beneficial cost.
SOLUTION: The medical laser apparatus irradiates a subject selectively with laser light and comprises a laser light source having a visible wavelength of &lambdap, a Raman fiber for forming a first FBG and a second FBG, a variable reflector for every FBG, a wavelength converter, a light guidance optical system for converted laser light, a wavelength selector for laser light, and a controller for controlling the variable reflector, wherein the first FBG defines a &lambda1 resonator to shift the laser light to have a different wavelength of &lambda1 from &lambdap by Raman scattering the second FBG similarly regulates a &lambda2 resonator to shift the laser light to have a different wavelength of a &lambda2 from &lambdap the wavelength converter converts the laser light to &lambdas1 from &lambda1 and to &lambdas2 from &lambda2 and the variable reflector is controlled in such a way that the first FBG defines the &lambda1 resonator and the second FBG does not define the &lambda2 resonator for selected &lambdas1, while the second FBG defines the &lambda2 resonator and the first FBG does not define the &lambda1 resonator for selected &lambdas2.
