The present invention relates to an antibacterial composition containing a Rosa davurica extract as an active ingredient. The Rosa davurica extract of the present invention exhibits excellent antibacterial activity against Propionibacterium acnes which are bacteria causing acne, Propionibacterium acnes which are resistant to antibiotics, and Staphylococcus aureus and Staphylococcus epidermidis which are dermatophytes. Unlike conventional antibacterial materials, the antibacterial composition containing a Rosa davurica extract, which is edible and a naturally derived material, does not cause a problem such as negative side effects, and thus can be advantageously used for an antibacterial cosmetic, an acne improving cosmetic, and medical product and health functional food for preventing, alleviating, and treating acne skin disease.본 발명의 생열귀나무 추출물은 여드름 원인균인 프로피오니박테리움 아크네스(Propionibacterium acnes) 및 항생제 내성을 가진 프로피오니박테리움 아크네스(Propionibacterium acnes)와 피부 상재균인 스타필로코커스 아우레우스(Staphylococcus aureus) 및 스타필로코커스 에피더미디스(Staphylococcus epidermidis)에 대해 우수한 항균 활성을 나타내며, 기존의 항생물질과는 달리 식용으로 사용하고 있는 천연유래의 물질로서 부작용 등이 문제가 되지 않으므로, 항균용 및 여드름 개선용 화장품과 여드름 질환의 예방, 개선 및 치료용 의약품 및 건강기능식품에 유용하게 이용될 수 있다.
