An object of the present invention is to provide a novel composition and agent for promoting production of brain-derived neurotrophic factor (BDNF) and a method for promoting production of BDNF. According to the present invention, a composition for promoting BDNF production comprising cocoa polyphenol and a BDNF production promoter are provided. According to the present invention, there is also provided a method for promoting production of BDNF, which comprises ingesting cacao polyphenol at a daily intake effective for promoting BDNF production for 2 weeks or more.本発明は脳由来神経栄養因子（ＢＤＮＦ）の産生を促進するための新規な組成物および用剤並びにＢＤＮＦの産生促進方法の提供を目的とする。本発明によれば、カカオポリフェノールを含んでなるＢＤＮＦ産生促進のための組成物およびＢＤＮＦ産生促進剤が提供される。本発明によればまた、カカオポリフェノールをＢＤＮＦ産生促進に有効な１日分の摂取量で２週間以上摂取させることを含む、ＢＤＮＦの産生促進方法が提供される。
