A crankable handle can be mechanically coupled to the spool shaft such that a rotation of the handle causes a rotation of the spool shaft. A non-rotating pivotable bail can be coupled to the reel frame. A spool can be mechanically coupled to the spool shaft and configured to rotate with the rotation of the spool shaft relative to the bail.
