PURPOSE: A roaster for fresh coffee beans and grains including a ventilation-type convection device inside a drum is provided to enable users to separately control the rotation numbers of two shafts. CONSTITUTION: A roaster for fresh coffee beans and grains comprises the following: a drum(1) connected to a hollow shaft(2) with a through-hole by fixing the drum to the end of the hollow shaft using a fixing nut(3)； the hollow shaft with at least two bearings(5), mounted on a bearing housing(4)； a rotating shaft(7) on a speed reducer(6) for rotating a drum, connected to the other end of the hollow shaft； a gear box(8) penetrated by the rotating shaft； the drum including a propeller rotating shaft(10) with a propeller(9) for generating the convection current； a propeller rotating motor(11) with a shaft connected to the propeller rotating shaft using a connection tube(12) formed with rubber or silicon； and a drum driving motor(13) rotating the final rotation shaft using a multi-stage gear by the rotation of the motor.본 고안에 따른 강제 대류장치를 가진 드럼식 커피 볶음기는 커피를 볶는 드럼을 회전시키는 축에 있어 이 축을 중공축으로 만들고 그 내부의 중공을 이용하여 또 다른 별개의 송풍용 축을 삽입하여 회전시킬 수 있게 된다.드럼은 감속장치를 부착한 모터를 이용하여 저속(40~120 RPM)으로 회전시키고, 중공축 내부를 관통한 또 다른 축은 드럼을 구동하는 모터와 별개의 모터를 이용하여 축에 부착된 스크류 또는 프로팰러 형태의 날개를 분당 200회전 이상으로 회전을 시킴으로서 강제 대류를 일으키게 된다.이 강제 대류는 고온 분위기의 드럼내부에서 수많은 커피의 교반으로 인해 비산하는 지꺼기와 발생하는 가스를 드럼 밖으로 배출시키는 역할을 함으로서 드럼 외부의 열기가 드럼 내부로 유입되어 드럼내부에서 볶이는 커피가 고른 대류열을 공급받게 된다.또한, 볶이는 과정에서 발생하는 얇은 껍데기(실버스킨)와 연기 등이 효과적으로 드럼 밖으로 배출되게 된다.
