PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing osteoblast from peripheral blood.
SOLUTION: This method for producing osteoblast comprises an extracting step S1 for extracting mononuclear cells from peripheral blood collected from a human body, and a culture step S2 for mixing the mononuclear cells extracted by the extracting step S1 with porous &beta-tricalcium phosphate powder having a particle diameter of 25 to 75 &mum to culture the mixture. Thus, the mutual coagulation of particles is controlled to increase the contact frequency of the mononuclear cells with porous &beta-tricalcium phosphate powder, and the entering of the mononuclear cells into the pores of the porous &beta-tricalcium phosphate powder is prevented to prevent the production of macrophage and promote differentiation into the osteoblast.
