PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a medical image recording apparatus capable of recording an endoscopic image in a stable image quality using encode parameters according to the image quality of the endoscopic image.SOLUTION: A video processor 3 generates an image signal from a signal captured by a CCD 21A of an endoscope 2A connected thereto, and inputs it in an image input section 42. An input signal discrimination section 43 and a communication section 46 transmit attribute information, and information on an endoscope ID, an aspect ratio and a mask size to a control section 44 as input information. The control section 44 automatically extracts encode parameters corresponding to the input information from a database section 49, and transmits it to an encode section 47.
