A method of exciting an end effector connected to an ultrasound excitation system of a surgical instrument, comprising: generating at least one electrical signal by a generator; monitoring at least one electrical signal for compliance with a first set of logical conditions; maintaining a resonant frequency of at least one electrical signal in quality of the base frequency; and a start of the first response of the generator upon the occurrence of at least one event selected from the group consisting of: the fulfillment of the first set of logical conditions and the difference in the resonant frequency of the at least one electrical signal from the base frequency by the threshold value of the deviation from the base value. 2. The method of claim 1, wherein the closure of the jaws is detected when the ultrasonic impedance of the surgical instrument exceeds a threshold impedance. The method of claim 1, wherein the first response comprises triggering at least one response selected from the group consisting of an audio response, a visual response, and an impulse response. The method of claim 1, wherein the first response includes an impulse response and wherein the triggering of an impulse response comprises: generating an amplitude of a first pulse by a generator for a duration of a first pulse, wherein the duration of a first pulse is a period during which a generator generates an amplitude of a first pulse; and the generation by the generator of the amplitude of the second pulse during the duration of the second pulse, the duration of the second pulse being the period during which the generator generates the amplitude of the second pulse.
