The image processing unit (42) creates a new planning image on the basis of displacement of: the position of a specific area in an image that is based on second volume data and of the position of a corresponding specific area in a first planning image that contains an image (I), said image being made in advance from the first volume data and depicting the insertion path of the puncture needle with respect to the test subject (E).
