Insecticide dispensing devices and methods of the present technology providefor theprolonged release of insecticide for the eradication of insect populations.Insecticidedispensing devices include an attractive toxic sugar bait, and have a housingconfigured withat least one aperture to allow a gaseous compound to exit the internal cavityand sized toallow entry of a target insect into the internal cavity. Methods ofinsecticide dispensinginclude activating the attractive toxic sugar bait in the device, and placingthe activateddevice in an area where insects are present.
