The present invention pertains to the field of immunology and genetic engineering. In particular, the present invention relates to the construction, preparation and use of a recombinant vaccine against foot-and-mouth disease virus. The vaccine comprises a tandem repeat of an antigenic epitope of FMDV VP1 protein, the constant region of the immunoglobulin heavy chain or a functional fragment thereof, and the FMDV 3D protein or an immunogenic fragment thereof.
