Provided is a method of generating a blur model for a detector of a medical image generating apparatus for reconstructing the medical image, comprising the steps of: obtaining signals emitted from a linear gamma-ray source with respect to each changed location while the location of the linear gamma-ray source is changed in a detecting space of a three-dimensional detector, generating LSFs (Line Spread Functions) of straight lines corresponding to each location by using the obtained signals for each location, sorting the LSFs of the straight lines into PSFs (Point Spread Functions) of at least one voxel included in each straight line, and generating a blur model of the detector based on the PSFs of each voxel. In addition, provided is a medical image generating apparatus comprising a first image generating unit for detecting a signal emitted from a trailer introduced into an object to generate a first image of the object, and a second image generating unit for applying the blur model generated by a method of generating a blur model to the first image to generate a second image.
