1. A process for the production of processed food product having a reduced sodium content with salty taste similar salty taste of the food product prior formulation comprising: (A) providing the adjusted amount of sodium chloride in the food product an altered formulation, said adjusted amount of sodium chloride less the amount of sodium chloride in the previous formulation of the food product ! (B) adding potassium chloride to a food product modified formulation ! (C) adding a monophosphate salt to the foodstuff a modified formulation, said monophosphate salt comprises a member selected from the group consisting of potassium dihydrogen phosphate and calcium dihydrogen phosphate and! (D) adding to the treated food product modified formulation of one or more members selected from the group consisting of potassium citrate, potassium phosphate, potassium phosphate, potassium pyrophosphate, potassium lactate, potassium acetate, potassium tartarate, and potassium formate. ! 2. The method of claim 1, wherein step (d) comprises adding potassium citrate. ! 3. The method of claim 1, wherein said adjusted amount of sodium chloride is at least 25% smaller by weight, the amount of sodium chloride used in the previous formulation. ! 4. The method of claim 1, wherein said food product is a modified formulation, or if the attached instructions require dilution, the dilution of the appended instructions food product contains not more than 900 mg sodium per basic amount of said foodstuff. ! 5.
