There is provided an aerosol delivery device 100 having therein a check valve used for recharging the aerosol delivery device. The aerosol delivery device includes at least one housing (104) defining a rechargeable reservoir for storing an aerosol precursor composition, and a heating element (110) housed within the at least one housing and configured to activate and evaporate components of the aerosol precursor composition . The connector 124 may be coupled to one or more housings and may be sealingly connected to a container of an aerosol precursor composition for refilling the reservoir.
