Disclosed is the use of a composition comprising at least one human milk oligosaccharide selected from the group consisting of 6&rsquo-sialyllactose, 2&rsquo-fucosyllactose, and lacto-N-neotetraose in the manufacture of a medicament for the treatment or prevention of an inflammatory condition or disease in an infant, toddler, or child by reducing the incidence of oxidative stress in the infant, toddler, or child. Also disclosed is the use of a composition comprising at least one neutral human milk oligosaccharide and at least one acidic human milk oligosaccharide in the manufacture of a medicament for the treatment or prevention of an inflammatory condition or disease in an infant, toddler, or child by reducing the incidence of oxidative stress in the infant, toddler, or child.
