The present invention relates to a novel trans-2-decenoic acid derivative and a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof, and a highly safe neurotrophic factor-like action containing the compound as an active ingredient and side effects caused by administration of an anticancer agent. It is an object to provide a medicine having an alleviating action. Specifically, the trans-2-decenoic acid derivative which is the compound of the present invention or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof is represented by the general formula (1): (wherein Y represents —O—, —NR— or —S). -Represents a hydrogen atom, an alkyl group or a dialkylamino group, and W represents a substituent such as a dialkylaminoalkyl group. It is extremely useful as a medicament such as a preventive or therapeutic agent, a spinal cord injury treatment or repair agent, or a side effect-reducing agent by administration of an anticancer agent.本発明は、新規なトランス－２－デセン酸誘導体及びその薬学的に許容される塩、並びに該化合物を有効成分として含有する安全性の高い神経栄養因子様の作用や抗がん剤投与による副作用軽減作用を有する医薬を提供することを課題とする。本発明化合物であるトランス－２－デセン酸誘導体又はその薬学的に許容される塩は、具体的には、一般式（１）：（式中、Ｙは－Ｏ－、－ＮＲ－又は－Ｓ－を示し、Ｒは水素原子、アルキル基又はジアルキルアミノ基等を示し、Ｗはジアルキルアミノアルキル基等の置換基を示す。）で表され、認知症、アルツハイマー病、パーキンソン病、うつ病等の予防若しくは治療剤、脊髄損傷の治療若しくは修復剤、又は抗がん剤投与による副作用軽減作剤等の医薬として、極めて有用性の高いものである。
