PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a dental filling material having both optical properties and mechanical properties necessary for dental materials, its manufacturing method, and a dental composite material using the dental filling material.SOLUTION: The dental filling material comprises a group of amorphous inorganic oxide fine particles obtained by coating the surface of silica based fine particles with a composite oxide composed of at least zirconium, silicon, and oxygen, and its manufacturing method is disclosed.
