The embodiments described and claimed herein provide a paddle lead for dorsal root ganglion (DRG) stimulation and a method of implanting the same. In one embodiment, the paddle lead has a small profile that facilitates deployment into the target space in the foramen posterior to the DRG and below the lamina. The paddle portion of the paddle lead may include a living hinge and / or a contouring profile to further facilitate implantation at the target site. The paddle lead may include a suture loop configuration for suture assisted deployment and to resist movement of the paddle lead once deployed.
