PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a balloon catheter for removing a solid matter capable of efficiently removing a solid matter within a lumen, and to provide a method of removing the solid matter within the lumen using the balloon catheter.SOLUTION: A balloon catheter 1 for removing a solid material comprises a flexible long body 10 and plural expandable and contractable balloons 20A to 20D provided in line along the long axis direction of the long body 10, on the outer periphery portion of the long body 10.
