PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sterilizing method of a thin-walled plastic bottle capable of heat-sterilizing and cooling the thin-walled plastic bottle without a risk of causing deformation due to thermal shrinkage, and comprising a step of wet-heat-sterilizing the thin-walled plastic bottle using a heat-sterilizing fluid such as heated water, warm water or heating chemicals, and then cooling it after giving a sufficient quantity of heat necessary for sterilizing the bottle.

SOLUTION: The sterilizing method of the thin-walled plastic bottle comprises a step of heat-sterilizing at least the inner surface of the thin-walled plastic bottle and a process of cooling the heat-sterilized thin-walled plastic bottle wherein the thin-walled plastic bottle is heat-sterilized and/or cooled while keeping the inside of the thin-walled plastic bottle at positive pressure or slightly positive pressure.
