PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a stretchable shaking-out type rod which can easily detect a bite, can exhibit full flexibility, when catching a fish, and can easily resist to the lateral swimming, and the like, of the fish to previously prevent the breakage and the like of a line.SOLUTION: A reel seat 4 is mounted on a butt rod 2, and line guides 6 are mounted on a tip-side portion 1a placed on the tip-side of a tip rod 1. The stiffness of the tip-rod side portion 1a is larger than that of a butt-rod side portion 1b placed on the butt-rod side. The butt-rod side portion 1b is held in a state received in the butt rod 2, or the butt-rod side portion 1b can be held in an elongated state pulled out on the tip-rod side.
