The object of the invention belongs to the field of preparation of antimicrobial nanoparticles, more specifically, the invention relates to the process of preparing antimicrobial copper nanoparticles using functional alkoxysilanes, preferably aminopropyltrimethoxysilane (APTMS), as precursors which act as a means of restricting particle growth. The essence of the process for the preparation of antibacterial copper nanoparticles is that it incorporates from a high temperature polyol base synthesis of copper nanoparticles based on an organic colloidal solution with a particle size ranging between 5 nm and 170 nm using a functional trialkoxysilane molecule as a restrictive agent. Such synthetized antibacterial copper nanoparticles have a wide range of uses, such as bactericides in paints or plasters for hospital equipment, medical instruments and devices, in the preparation of textiles with antimicrobial properties, for the treatment of water, food processing, as well as for objects and equipment in public spaces, on public transportation, colors, toys, kitchens and hospital containers.Predmet izuma sodi v področje postopkov priprave protimikrobnih nanodelcev, bolj natančno se izum nanaša na postopek priprave protimikrobnih bakrovih nanodelcev z uporabo funkcionalnih alkoksisilanov, prednostno aminopropiltrimetoksisilana (APTMS) kot prekurzorjev, ki delujejo kot sredstvo za omejevanje rasti delcev. Bistvo postopka priprave protibakterijskih bakrovih nanodelcev je, da vključuje iz visoko temperaturne poliolne sinteze bakrovih nanodelcev na osnovi organske koloidne raztopine, z velikostjo delcev v območju med 5 nm in 170 nm, z uporabo funkcionalne trialkoksisilanske molekule kot omejevalnega sredstva.
