PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To maintain the erectness of bristles and prevent leakage of a molding material when it is filled into a mold cavity in a method for manufacturing a toothbrush in which a bristling portion is formed by filling a molding material with bristle bundles, at the ends of which molten lumps are formed, projected into the cavity, without using staples.SOLUTION: Bristling holes according with bristle bundle holding holes are provided in the cavity C side inside of a first die member 1 in which bristle bundle holding holes holding bristle bundles F are provided, a previously molded bristling portion cover 7 is mounted, the bristle bundles F are inserted into the bristling holes of the bristling portion cover 7 and the bristle bundle holding holes of the first die member 1, and held with the ends projecting into the cavity C side, the projected ends are melted and form molten lumps 15, a molding material 17 is filled into the cavity C formed by conforming the second die member 16 with the first die member 1 and the bristling portion 18 is formed together with the bristling portion cover 7.COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO【課題】 ステープルを使用せず、端部に溶融塊を形成した毛束をキャビティ内に突出させた状態で成形材料を充填して植毛部を成形する歯ブラシの製造方法において、毛束の直立性を維持すると同時に金型キャビティへの成形材料の充填時の成形材料の漏れを防止する。【解決手段】 毛束Fを保持する毛束保持孔を設けた第1型部材1のキャビティC側内面に、毛束保持孔と一致する植毛孔を設けて予め成形した植毛部カバー7を装着し、植毛部カバー7の植毛孔及び第1型部材1の毛束保持孔に毛束Fを挿通し、その端部をキャビティC側に突出させた状態で保持し、該突出端部を溶融して溶融塊15を形成し、第1型部材1に第2型部材16を整合させて形成されるキャビティC内に成形材料17を充填して植毛部カバー7と一体に植毛部18を成形する。
