Represented and described is a plate (10, 11) which can be anchored in the soil and is intended for delimiting beds, lawn borders or the like, having a base plate portion (12), along whose upper edge a moulding (17; 18), intended, for example, for bearing on the soil, is bent off essentially at right angles. In order to be able to lay a plurality of such plates in as simple a manner as possible in a rectilinear and fixedly interconnected manner, the invention provides that there are fitted, on the vertical end sides of the plate, plug-in couplings (21, 22), by means of which in each case two plates (10, 11) can be connected to one another in a positively locking manner, by means of a relative movement in the driving-in direction, such that the mouldings (17, 18) of the two plates (10, 11) are in alignment. The plug-in couplings are preferably configured by forming slots (23, 26) on the lateral border regions (24) of the plates (10, 11), with the result that the plates can be hooked one into the other in an essentially positively locking manner. <IMAGE>
