PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a composition for a soft contact lens, which restrains a basic chemical substance selected from amines having a secondary amino group and/or a tertiary amino group and salts of the amines from being adsorbed on a soft contact lens, and to provide a method for suppressing adsorption of the above basic chemical substance on the soft contact lens.SOLUTION: The composition for the soft contact lens, which suppresses adsorption of a basic chemical substance on the soft contact lens, contains (A) a basic chemical substance selected from amines having a secondary amino group and/or a tertiary amino group and salts thereof and (B) one or more substances selected from acid mucopolysaccharides and salts thereof and cyclodextrin, and has a pH of 3.5 to 4.8.
