PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To effectively prevent unintended deformation of an absorber from being caused by a shrinkage force of gathers, without deteriorating flexibility against the deformation, which is originally possessed by a block-like absorbent core.SOLUTION: An absorbent article 10 includes a side flap 24 which is extended outward in a width direction from both side edges along a longitudinal direction of an absorber 20. An absorbent core 22 comprises a block area 235 and a non-block area 236 positioned on the outer periphery of the block area 235. The block area 235 has a block structure comprising heavy-basis weight parts and light-basis weight parts. The peripheries of the respective heavy-basis weight parts are individually independent of one another in such a manner that the whole areas of them are surrounded by the light-basis weight parts. A side flap elastic member 163 elongated in the longitudinal direction is arranged in a stretched state in the side flap 24.
