The method involves selecting a grooming kit according to a horse attribute, the horse attribute being categorized according to a categorization scheme. The categorization scheme has a plurality of categories including: a first category corresponding to a gray or white horse coat type a second category corresponding to a light bay or chestnut horse coat type and a third category corresponding to a black or dark bay horse coat type. A prescribed sequential grooming regime is followed according to the categorization of horse and the selected grooming kit. Each of the grooming kits has a specific combination of brush types for a sequential order of brushing steps.
