[Problem] To provide a blood purifying device and priming method for this device which facilitates automation of a priming process using a dialysate as the priming liquid, performs the priming process in a short period of time, and reliably cleans a blood purifying membrane. [Solution] Provided are a dialyzer (3) in which a blood passage (α) for the patients blood and a dialysate passage (β) for the dialysate are formed via a hollow fiber membrane (M) for purifying the blood and a dialysate introduction line (L1) and dialysate discharge line (L2) connected to the inlet and the outlet of the dialysate passage (α) in the dialyzer (3).
