A fishing spinning reel comprising: a reel body (1); a cover mounting portion provided on a rear portion of the reel body (1); and a cover member (10) mounted on the cover mounting portion (20) and covering the rear portion of the reel body (1), the cover member (10) comprising: at least one first abutting portion (10a) abutting the cover mounting portion (20) from behind: and at least one second abutting portion (10b) abutting the cover mounting portion (20) from both left and right sides, wherein when the cover member (10) is mounted on the cover mounting portion (20) via the first abutting portion (10a) and the second abutting portion (10b), groove-like gaps (S1, S2) are formed in left and right side surfaces (1k) of the reel body (1) between border portions (20a, 20b) of the cover mounting portion (20) and left and right side edges (12a2, 12b2, 11c2) of the cover member (10).
